PEACE NO WAR

Peace on earth, peace on this planet, peace for every human and animal...is it sometimes a utopia? Did we think this was ever going to be over....
The artist did...when she started working on the artwork. One of all the items in her work, this one was the most important. It was not to be, after a month when the work was finished (February 2022), world peace was over again. A disconcertingly poignant moment with a tearing feeling...why....
White and black also remains a hopeless problem, honour to Marther Luther King who showed us the way to equality. All born the same beautiful natural way. Skin colour different drives people to violence again. We must keep fighting for all human rights that exist, for freedom and for love, for our right to exist, for our children, for equality.

Paix sur terre, paix pour chaque être humain et animal. Est-ce un rêve ?
"La guerre est finie" chantait John Lennon en 1972. Malheureusement... 50 ans plus tard, une autre guerre déchirante fait rage en Ukraine. Mais pourquoi? Personne ne comprend…
La phrase mythique de Martin Luther King « I have a dream » est toujours d'actualité : nous sommes quotidiennement confrontés à des conflits entre blancs et noirs.
Nous devons continuer à lutter pour les droits de l'homme, pour la liberté et l'amour, pour la paix.

Vrede is een van de belangrijkste thema's in het werk van Gigi. Vrede op aarde, op deze planeet, voor ieder mens en dier. Is het een utopie? Hebben we ooit hieraan durven twijfelen?
Het heeft niet mogen zijn. Een maand nadat het kunstwerk af was, februari 2022, was de wereldvrede voorbij.
Een onthutsend moment met een verscheurend gevoel. Waarom toch?

Ook blank en zwart is een steeds terugkerend probleem. Laat ons kijken naar het geweldloos verzet van Martin Luther King tegen de rassenscheiding. We moeten blijven vechten voor mensenrechten, voor vrijheid en liefde, voor ons bestaansrecht, voor onze kinderen, voor gelijkheid.
